DTU — Technical University of Denmark

DTU is a Technical University close to Copenhagen in Denmark. In 2015, Mikkelsen Architects designed a new building for research and teaching with agile and creative spaces, laboratories, meeting rooms, and the like for students. About the project

The Technical University of Denmark is an international elite technical university where education, scientific advice, and innovation rest on a solid foundation of world-class research. In 2015, Mikkelsen Architects got the chance to design an additional building for the Technical University of Denmark that had to match the rest of the premises but also show the creative space containing laboratories, meeting rooms, quiet rooms and support zones for research and teaching. Since the building is designed very simple with sharp lines, they chose a delicate range of colours for the chairs – matching the rest of the school's atmosphere.

  • The Kevi chair is based on the simple principle: The better you sit, the more you get done.
  • The Kevi Air is a swivel chair with polished 5-star aluminium base with height adjustment.
  • The Kevi 2060 is a sleek and simple four-legged chair. it is durable and comfortable, making it ideal for a range of purposes. The chair is stackable and is available in veneer, plastic and with optional seat and back upholstery.

Kevi — Chairs and tables for homes and offices

The origin of the Kevi design dates back to 1958 when Danish architect Jørgen Rasmussen created the Kevi swivel chair. With the invention of the double-wheel castors, the chair quickly went on to become an international success.

After nearly 60 years on wheels, it was time to renew the iconic design, and the four-legged Kevi was born. Besides a range of chairs that vary in size and height, the series also includes tables and stools – in total, 25 variants.
